"Hey there you with the sad face come up to my place and live it up!"

Hey

we successfully arrived in Sydney without further accidents and bills. Driving in Sydney is definitely a challenge but Maenu guided me very well!

By the way: If someone might be interested to catch up with us in Zurich: Maenu arrives on Sunday, 01. July, on 08.20 in the morning. I arrive on 13.20 same date.
My parents come by car, there are no seats left, unfortunately, that means you have to go home by your own, sorry. So we are not disappointed if you're not there.

Thanks very much for your comments, sorry that I can't respond, I have to enjoy the very last couple of days of my "exchange half-year" :-)

I present you a few more pics without comment...
See ya soon

East coast, Sunshine coast and Gold coast

Hey there

we're on our way along the East coast from Brisbane to Sydney. We enjoy the sunny and warm winter days but we're also looking forward to fly back to CH on 30.June.
Our Camper van is fully equipped with camping stove, mattresses, table etc. so we don't actually need a caravan park.

See ya soon

Lexi

Hey

we arrived in Dampier last Wednesday and the Dockings welcomed us as best friends would do. We're enjoying our time with Lexi, Alex(dad), Jasmin(sister), Samantha(older sister) Brad(Lexis boyfriend) and last but not least, Krank, a biiig black dog!
Forgot to mention that Maenu arrived well in Exmouth on 3.May. He is still feeling his 63h trip but he is on the way to recover:-)
I now let the pictures talk, there will be some more the next few days.

See ya soon

Exmouth!

Hey there

the time I've spent on the Ningaloo Reef which goes from the Red Bluff(Carnarvon) to the peninsula of Exmouth was one of the greatest experiences I've had so far!
Swimming with sharks, sea turtles, dolphins, manta rays, stingrays, bull rays, snappers, blow fish, cuttlefish, lobsters...etc. It will probably last to long if I would mention every creature which fascinate me but I hope you get an overall impression from this short extract:-)

See ya

Back in Perth

Hey

I'm back in Perth. We're heading north tomorrow with an other girl from Switzerland, so there's gonna be three persons in our camper van.
I'm looking very much froward to meet Maenu in Exmouth, hope he can prepare himself for this extreme journey and I don't know if he is aware of the time he will spend in planes, at airports, in buses...
Southwestern Australia is a great spot which I'll never forget. Especially the Stirling Range National Park with its highest mountain called "Bluff Knoll" was an awesome experience! The vast landscape is just unbelievable!
I'm a bit tired at the moment, I had to drive home ten people last night, driving thorough Perth at 5.00am...it took us more than an hour to bring them home!

Hope there's everything OK in CH

Greetings Sam

Roadtrip

Hey

On Monday, 19th March, I'm going south with Fabian, Faeldi, Imfeld, a colleague from school. We intended to depart tomorrow, 18th, but Faeldi was in hospital yesterday. He had an ear infection as a result of our diving course.
We bought a camper van last week which was originally built for 18 persons so it is quite big and comfortable. I hope we won't have any breakdowns but in the end it's all a matter of relativity.

Hope you are all well
See you soon

Sam

Family life

Hey

here are some pics of my host family: Brendan(17), Bronagh(15) and mother Dympna Brbich have been my host family for eleven weeks.

Diving Course on Rotto

Hey

I've just finished my "Padi Open Water Diving Course" on Rottnest Island! I'm now an Open Water Diver with certification and therefore allowed to go diving on my own. There must be awesome diving sites at Ningaloo Reef and Byron Bay and I'm looking forward to diving there.

Pictures will follow, my colleague Lukas has taken some underwater pics: Stingrays(yes, those creatures which killed Steve Irwin!) lobsters, blow fishes(they can blow their body up when feeling stress) and a lot more. To sum up, it was a great experience!

Surfweekend in Lancelin

Hey

we had our surf trip in Lancelin last weekend. We managed to stand on our surfboard on the first day, we made a remarkable progress after just one hour in water. However, it was quite exhausting to get on your board with a so called "jump-up" for five/six hours a day. In the evening we were all sunburned.

I had an appointment with a doctor yesterday, the outcome was that I'm nearly deaf(audiogram: abnormal) but it should be OK to go scuba diving.

I've just had my speaking exam. It was terrible and I hope I will finally pass it!

Greetings and all the best
Sam

Pics

A few more impressions, especially for Timur:-)

Who knows that bloke on the last picture? Yes, it's Hagi(Philip Hagenbucher), former student at the Gymnasium Burgdorf! He studies at Phoenix Academy as well but Marina should know that too...

Australia Day 07

Hey

last weekend, 26. January, the Australian celebrated their national day, so called "Australian Day." We were watching the 1.5 million dollar firework on the Swan River and it was absolutely worth watching!

We often have BBQ on the beach, we prefer this kind of weekend party because a beer costs about eight dollars in a bar... By the way, kangaroo meat is delicious! My host family was concerned about how on earth I could eat their national symbol on Australia Day! I didn't have a bad conscience in spite of the fact my host family has never eaten some...

Have a nice time

Greetings
Sam

First Weekend

Hey
my first weekend was great: On Friday there was our night off in Northbridge, the most popular area for having parties in Perth. Bars and Pubs were crowded as usual. On Saturday I went to Fremantle, a lovely small harbour village in the south of Perth. It is known as the place to be for hippies and I think it won't have been the last time I was there...
On Sunday I was in Cottesloe Beach, the greatest beach I've ever seen. There are grass-green terraces upon the beach where you can have a sunbath. Also the temperature was nice, not too hot, not too cold...But this weather is likely to get sunburned because you don't feel the sun so strong and also the wind supports this feeling.

First day at school

Hey
today was my first day in at school. It was rather easy but up to tomorrow we will have plenty of work to do, as the teacher said! It won't be the easy-going way like in the Cambridge First, so that means that I will join in an Advanced class, even though I don't know my results of the test yet.
It is raining at the moment and it wasn't so an interesting stay up to now. I have never been in the water of the Indian Ocean, never seen the Swan River yet...
